We promised sunnier days? Here they come! And with them a strikingly positive correlation of singing adventurers on their motorbikes and in the car. But you are lucky, no such audio recording will be published here.
The sun also called upon our "man of technology" who for the first time proudly presented his foldable solar-panel set (i.e. dead phone batteries have become a thing of the past!) as well as his drone to capture those eagle-eye shots that every true adventure project needs. No effort was spared here with him sitting on the cargo area of the car, fearlessly mastering the flight with everyone moving forward.
We moved on. And a key part (if not sub-mission!) of the trip was the spotting of animals, regardless of shape and size. While the occasional dog was fairly common, we were quite startled when a few fair-sized cows were coming out of the woods to approach the pitched tents. Cows can be confidently described as curious (while slow) animals. And these particular specimens considered it a great idea to approach the tents ever so slowly, with their eyes not moving an inch from us (or the dinner on the stoves). Who blinks first?
But as cosy as a camp-site and its visitors may be, we had a mission and pushed further South. Stocking up supplies in Cohaique we soon enough found ourselves on the shores of Puerto Rio Tranquilo to explore the myth-enshrouded Marble Caves. Clearly a spot to take out your camera & capture those posers!
With plenty of memories & good laughs in the backpack, we prepared ourselves and the vehicles for the Argentinian border crossing in the town of Chile Chico. An assignment that would turn out more challenging than we planned for...
